• The NSW Teachers Federation has called a stop work meeting for Wednesday morning, 19th November. Details were sent home last week. It will be a 2 hour stop work. There will be minimal supervision provided for students during these two hours. Our normal school schedules will resume at 11:00am. Parents will be notified tomorrow of any changes. Further information is available from www.det.nsw.edu.au and www.nswtf.org.au
• The draft plan for classes for 2009 is outlined in this week’s newsletter. At present we will have 13 classes. Any plan will remain a draft until classes start next year as student numbers may increase or decrease before that date.

These certificates have been ordered and will be given to the children in the coming weeks. Live Outside the Box will be conducted Term 3 next year when we will try to achieve an even higher result. The last of our Health Fact Sheets was included in last week’s newsletter. We hope you found the information interesting. Thank you to our great P & C who have agreed to fund the purchase of snack containers for every child in ’09. This is part of our crunch and sip program which will begin in Term 1. A food wheel is being sent home in this newsletter, which will be laminated for the fridge.

Application for Year 7 Entry to Selective High Schools in 2010
Parents with children seeking placement in a selective high school in Year 7 in 2010 are required to submit an application form to their current primary school by 14 November 2008. Generally students are in Year 5 in 2008 when applying for Year 7 entry in 2010. All Year 5 have received information about this application.

Classes for 2009
At present we are planning for 2009. If you have a concern about the class your child will go into next year, please put this in writing and forward it to the school. We will consider all such issues in forming classes. Alternatively, you can speak to the principal about concerns you may have. In general we will endeavour not to place your child with the teacher they had this year.

At present we are looking at 2 models for our classes for next year. These are based on our current projected enrolments and will change if significant numbers leave the school or enrol at the school.

This term school and P&C funds have been made available to purchase maths equipment which will be used to make up game packs for classrooms. I will be making up the maths games packs on Wednesday 26th November. If anyone is able to help me in putting these together that would mean a lot more could be achieved on this day. If you can help please see me, or send in a note, or ring the office.
Thank you Sharon Pechey.
