Newsletter Week 5 Term 1 2008

Posted on February 24th, 2008 in Newsletter by weps

•    The turf was laid on the playing fields last week. Now, dare say it, we could do with some steady rain to ensure that it doesn’t dry out and will be ready for playing on in around four weeks.
•    Congratulations to Brittany who has been selected in the North Wollongong district basketball team. She will compete at the South Coast trials at Bombaderry on the 19th March. Well done to Kirra, Brooke  and Ashley who tried out for the district teams on Friday.
•    Congratulations to Scout on receiving her Principal’s award last week.

•    Good luck to our swimmers who will be competing at the district carnival tomorrow, 26th February.

Clean Up Australia
On Thursday, each class will be cleaning up an area around the school. Students are encouraged to wear gloves when picking up rubbish and will wash their hands after the activity. The activity is voluntary. If you do not want your child to take part, please advise the class teacher. Hopefully it will raise awareness about Clean Up Australia Day on Sunday

Text Books
Thank you to all the parents who have purchased their childrens’ books so far. It would be appreciated if all books can be purchased as soon as possible as teachers have commenced using the books. Thank you

Uniform Shop
As the intensity of the school year has eased, the uniform shop will open Monday mornings 8:35 – 9am and Wednesdays 2:30 – 3pm. The alternative to visiting the shop is to complete the attached order form, place it together with full payment in an envelope. Place the envelope up at the school cash box and the order will be completed and given to your child.
Financial assistance is NO LONGER available. Approval is valid ONLY at time of purchase on a case by case basis. Any concerns regarding financial assistance should be directed to the school. Attached to the newsletter is a school uniform price list.
